This Privacy Policy explains how the PDF Reader: Document Viewer mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

• Your documents, PDFs and files. Opening, reading, annotating, signing, scanning, converting, merging, splitting, compressing, protecting or otherwise processing files happens locally on your device. We never see, receive, upload or store the contents of your files. The contents of your documents are never shared with advertising services.
• Personal identity. The App has no sign-up or login. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address or any account credentials.
• Camera images. Photos captured with the document scanner are processed on your device to create PDFs and are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted to us.

2. Information Collected Automatically (Diagnostics & Analytics)

To keep the App reliable, we use Google Firebase services, which automatically collect limited, non-identifying technical data:

• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and stability data, such as the type of crash, stack traces, device model, operating system version, and app version, so we can diagnose and fix problems.
• Firebase Analytics — collects aggregated, anonymized usage statistics such as which features are opened, session counts, device type, language and general region, and app-instance identifiers. This helps us understand how the App is used and where to improve it.

This data does not include the contents of your documents and is not used to personally identify you. Data collection by these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's Privacy and Security terms.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google, to display ads in the App. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its advertising partners may automatically collect certain data from your device, including:

• Advertising ID — the resettable advertising identifier provided by Android (the App declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission for this purpose);
• Device and network information — such as device model, operating system version, screen size, language, mobile network and IP address (which may indicate your approximate location);
• Ad interaction data — such as which ads were shown, viewed or clicked, used for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention and performance measurement.

Depending on your location and your consent choices, ads may be personalized (based on your interests as inferred by Google and its partners) or non-personalized (based only on contextual information such as your general location and the content of the current session). The contents of your documents are never used for advertising.

Your choices:

• Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in a region where consent is required, the App shows a consent dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) before serving personalized ads. You can decline or limit consent and still use the App with non-personalized ads, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the App's settings ("Privacy options" / "Ad preferences").
• Opt out of ad personalization on your device. On Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) to delete or reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization.

Data collection and use by AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services (Advertising). A list of ad technology providers Google works with is available here.

4. Permissions We Request

• Storage / All files access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — required so you can open PDF files from anywhere on your device and save your edited, converted or scanned documents back to your chosen location. The App accesses files only to perform the action you request; it does not read or upload your files in the background.
• Camera (CAMERA) — used only when you use the document scanner to capture pages and turn them into PDFs. Images are processed on-device.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used to show status of tasks (for example, completion of a conversion or export). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
• Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — allows the advertising SDK to use your device's resettable Advertising ID for the purposes described in Section 3.

5. How We Use Information

The limited data described above is used only to:

• Detect, diagnose and fix crashes and bugs;
• Understand which features are used so we can improve the App;
• Maintain the security, performance and stability of the App;
• Display, measure and fund the App through advertising, as described in Section 3.

We do not use the contents of your documents for any purpose, including advertising.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not share your documents with anyone. The third-party processors involved are Google (Firebase), which processes the diagnostic and analytics data described in Section 2 on our behalf, and Google (AdMob) and its advertising partners, which process the advertising data described in Section 3 to serve and measure ads. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process.

7. Data Retention

Your documents remain on your device and under your control; you can delete them at any time using your device or file manager. Crash and analytics data retained by Firebase, and advertising data retained by Google, are kept according to Google's standard retention periods, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Resetting your Advertising ID disconnects previously collected advertising data from your device's current identifier.

8. Data Security

Because your files stay on your device, their security is primarily governed by your device's own protections (lock screen, encryption, etc.). Diagnostic and advertising data transmitted to Google is sent over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we handle.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly serve personalized ads to children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to opt out of certain processing:

• EEA / UK (GDPR): you may withdraw or change your advertising consent at any time via the App's privacy options, and exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection.
• California (CCPA/CPRA): the use of advertising identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of personalized ads via the consent dialog (where shown) or by turning off ads personalization / resetting your Advertising ID in your device settings, as described in Section 3. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers, most other requests can be satisfied by uninstalling the App (which stops all data collection) and deleting your local files. 11. International Users

Diagnostic, analytics and advertising data may be processed on Google's servers, which may be located outside your country. Where required by law, such processing is based on your consent (which you may withdraw at any time) or other lawful grounds, in accordance with Google's applicable terms.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
